Standard and Poor's revises Outlook on Ireland to Positive; Affirms at BBB+

12 July 2012 - Standard and Poor's has revised the outlook on Ireland to positive on improved prospects for debt reduction. It has affirmed the long-term rating at BBB+.

A spokesman for the NTMA welcomed the announcement. He said: "It is encouraging that Standard and Poor's acknowledges the continued progress Ireland is making on the fiscal side and the improved access to capital markets."
