Director, Future Ireland Funds

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) is a State body which operates with a commercial remit to provide asset and liability management services to the Irish Government, including control and management of the Future Ireland Funds. These funds comprise the Future Ireland Fund (established to support, in a consistent and sustainable manner, State expenditure in any year from 2041) and the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund (established to support State expenditure, in 2026 or any year thereafter, in the event of a significant deterioration in the economic or fiscal position of the State and to support State expenditure, between 2026 and 2030, on certain environmental projects).

The Role:
Reporting to the NTMA Chief Executive, the successful candidate will lead the new NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management and investment of the Future Ireland Fund and the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund. This pivotal role encompasses the strategic and operational oversight of the Unit. The successful candidate will be joining at an instrumental juncture as the NTMA sets and refines its long-term investment strategies for the Future Ireland Funds.

Candidate Profile:
We seek a senior executive, one who has demonstrated strong, effective leadership within the domains of sovereign wealth funds, investment or pension funds, institutional asset ownership, or global equity investment organisations. The ideal candidate will have a consistent track record in the design and implementation of effective, enduring investment strategies and will exhibit a strategic and holistic approach to leadership, a proven record of managing high-calibre teams to success, sound judgement, as well as exceptional stakeholder engagement capabilities.
